I saw a master copy a couple of weeks ago of Carl Bloch's "Healing at the pool of Bethesda" by Joseph Brickey and was so inspired by it. I decided I'd like to learn lesson or two from Bloch myself, and so I've worked on this portrait of Christ, taken from Bloch's "Christ Portrait with Nimbus". I learned a lot about edges, just when I thought I'd created a soft edge, I looked back to Bloch, and knew I had to try again. There is also something so humbling about painting a portrait of Christ, even if you're copying someone else. You can't help but think about the direction your life is taking, and wonder if it's in harmony with His will. You make changes in the painting, and begin to make changes within yourself. I can't wait to create my own portrait of Christ, and am for the first time starting to feel ready to do so.
I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know He lives. He is the source of all my happiness and my strength. I'm so thankful for His constant care and instruction. I pray for His continued tutelage as I strive to become the person He desires me to be.

Really nice character-portrait of Jesus!
I can hardly wait to go to the BYU Museum of Art myself to see the Carl Bloch exhibit in April. You did a great job on the "Christ with Nimbus". And, I can hardly wait to see your original painting of Christ. You're great Jenedy!
I love how even though it is a copy of Bloch, I can still see your own style coming through. Beautiful!!!
Thank you for sharing your testimony of Christ, too.
I always love to see your newest painting and your thoughts behind it. Always awe-inspiring. Can't wait to someday see your own portrait painting of Christ.
